The periwinkle/teal Dupion Slub Anarkali is a storyteller in fabric — a vibrant deep pink plain body is crowned by a periwinkle/teal buti-print contrast yoke and sleeves, while the hem carries a breathtaking large-scale Pattachitra/Kalamkari narrative scene that covers nearly a third of the skirt. The periwinkle/teal outer yoke with all-over small gold/silver foil floral/paisley buti prints frames the deep pink inner chest panel in a V-sweetheart shape, with a wide multicolour woven border strip in red, pink, and gold geometric/floral motifs running along the V-frame edges and empire waist. The 3/4 teal buti-print sleeves are finished with a matching wide multicolour printed cuff border. The clean deep pink skirt flows wide and plain into the dramatic hem — a very wide teal printed Pattachitra/Kalamkari panel featuring a royal court procession with figures in traditional dress, decorated elephants with mahouts, horses, temple/palace architecture, and ornate floral vine scrolls in antique cream/white, red, pink, and gold on teal, followed by a narrow multicolour geometric strip, a wide teal Banarasi-style woven band with dense small circular/dot motifs in antique gold and red, and a narrow multicolour geometric strip at the very base.
